This article examines the relationship between childhood trauma and the development of psychological disorders in adulthood, exploring the underlying mechanisms and implications for clinical practice. By reviewing existing literature, we highlight the effects of ACEs on brain development, emotional regulation, and social functioning. Strategies for identifying and addressing trauma in early childhood are also presented, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and support. The findings underscore the significance of early experiences in influencing long-term mental health outcomes and provide valuable insights for mental health professionals working with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma.

Artículo en Español:

Las experiencias vividas durante la infancia temprana tienen un impacto significativo en la salud mental de los adultos, especialmente en relación con las experiencias adversas en la infancia (ACEs).
