A total of 25 randomized controlled trials were included in the analysis, comprising a sample of 1500 participants with diagnosed anxiety disorders. Results show a significant reduction in anxiety symptoms post-CBT intervention, with effect sizes ranging from moderate to large across various anxiety disorders. Subgroup analyses revealed that CBT was particularly effective for social anxiety disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. The findings support the efficacy of CBT as a treatment for anxiety disorders and highlight the need for further research to explore the mechanisms underlying its effectiveness.

1.
